#Blogtober, Day 6. It's Saturday and you are still getting emails from me. I truly hope that my daily posts aren't overwhelming, but rather useful to you. I'm not going to take much of your time today because you deserve rest more than anyone else. Instead, I'm going to share with you the 11 things you must make time for if you want too be happy and successful.
1. Mediate
You need some quiet time to relax your mind. Recharge that powerful machine with positive energy and watch how new ideas start flowing.
2. Sleep
Entrepreneurship often means countless sleepless nights, but good sleep patterns are just as important as hard work to be a successful person. Find the balance.
3. Exercise
I've recently gone back to the gym. I noticed that in the days I exercise I have much more energy and I am able to complete more tasks than in other days. If you want increased productivity, this is one of the keys.
4. Learn something new
Great minds train all the time. You must make time to learn something new if not every day (although I recommend it), then at least every week. We all have different learning styles so find the one that works best for you.
5. Play with your children
Part of being successful is leaving a tangible mark behind you. While this can be entirely with your business legacy, its impact is enhanced if you leave behind confident, emotionally intelligent and capable human beings. To raise such children you need to teach them they are important by spending time with them whenever possible. Also, don't forget they won't need your company forever. When they grow up they will have their own lives. Enjoy the hide and seek and peek-a-boo while they last.
6. Your marriage/relationship
Perhaps it's true you don't need another person to complete you, but you don't have to do life solo. Some burdens weigh less when you can share them with a soulmate. Pay attention to your partner and make time for your marriage or relationship. Organise weekly couples time and you will be amazed how much better you will feel about the overall quality of your life.
7. Giving back
You didn't get where you are entirely on your own (even though we often like to say so). Someone along the way taught you something, someone gave you an idea, someone offered a helping hand. Make time to give back by educating, helping and empowering others. It's one of the key qualities of a successful leader.
8. Visit your parents
Let's face it, they won't be here forever. Absorb their wisdom and unconditional love while you still have access to it. Every time you call or visit your parents you bring them enormous happiness. And happy people tend to live longer. Everyone wins!
9. Network and strategise
Creating new business contact and strategies is crucial to your success as an entrepreneur. Make time to attend networking events or even connect with other business owners online. Dedicate at least 5 hours a week for new strategy development. As your business grows, the time for this will increase too.
10. Self-care
Go for a massage, have your nails done, go shopping, make yourself a healthy meal. Don't skip that routine doctor's appointment. Taking care of yourself is no less important than taking care of your family or business.
11. Have fun
People who only work and never have fun are neither happy, nor successful. Find time to do the things you like with the people you love. Have a drink, laugh and just let your hair down every once in a while.
